Kalei Yamanoha is a composer and multi-instrumentalist whose work spans film, theater, circus, and live performance. His musical storytelling began at as a child, playing amongst Hawaiian and Polynesian bands that were pillars in his cultural background. At the age of 21, Kalei founded his own postmodern band, Oddjob Ensemble, and went on to perform across North America and Hawaiʻi with diverse ensembles that highlighted his multifaceted talents, including brass bands, folk groups, experimental ensembles, traditional Hawaiian ensembles, and circus productions.
His music blends cultural depth, emotional nuance, and a spirited cross-genre approach, making him a distinctive voice in contemporary film and performance scoring. Original compositions and live scores include works for The Imaginists, The Traveling Spectacular, and Flynn Creek Circus.
